WAF rule cannot be enabled

Description

The toggle that enables a WAF rule or an entry of the IP block and allow list cannot be operated. The tooltip of the toggle shows the message WAF cannot be enabled

The error occurs when the expiry date of the rule lies in the past. An expired rule cannot be activated.

Resolution

Proceed as follows to resolve the error:

  • ► Open the rule for editing.
  • ► Enter a date in the future in the Expiry date field or remove the expiry date.
  • ► Save the rule.
  • ► Activate the rule, see section Activating WAF rule.
  • ➔ The rule is active.

Note

The toggle also cannot be operated when your account lacks the permission to edit. In that case the tooltip shows the message You don't have the required permissions to access this setting. Please contact your administrator.
