Create an SSL/TLS certificate using the Myra App¶
With Myra's certificate generation feature, you can generate new SSL/TLS certificates directly in the Myra App. The advantage is that once the certificate expires, you don't have to upload a new SSL/TLS certificate; instead, Myra takes care of updating the SSL/TLS certificate.
The following requirements must be met:
- ☑ A domain has been added, see Section Add a domain.
- ☑ A DNS record has been added for the required subdomains, see Section Add a DNS record.
- ☑ If necessary, a certification authority has been added, see Section Add a certification authority.
Proceed as follows to create an SSL/TLS certificate:
SSL/TLS Certificate Management view
- ► Click on the Create new certificate button.
- ↳ The Create an SSL/TLS certificate for <domain name> dialog opens.

-
► On the Select provider tab, you have the following options:
-
▷ From the drop-down menu under Select Provider Account, choose an available certification authority.
Note
If you haven't created a certificate authority in the Myra App yet, the only option available in the drop-down menu under Select Provider Account is Let's Encrypt.
-
▷ Click on the Add new provider button, see Section Add a certification authority.
-
If you have selected your own certification authority, you have the following options:
-
■ The switch under Certificate Renewal (Default) allows you to set a custom value for renewing your SSL/TLS certificate.
Note
If the switch is set to Certificate Renewal (default), the SSL/TLS certificate will be renewed when ⅓ of its remaining validity period has elapsed.
Note
If you use Let's Encrypt as your certificate authority, the option under Certificate Renewal (Default) will be greyed out, and the default rule for updating the SSL/TLS certificate will be applied.
-
■ If you have enabled Renewal interval (days), use the Renewal interval (days) field to specify the number of days before the SSL/TLS certificate is set to expire.
-
-
-
► Click on the Continue button to continue the process.
- ↳ The Select Algorithm tab opens.

-
► You can specify which signature algorithm you want to use for the new SSL/TLS certificate.
Note
This setting can only be changed later by creating a new SSL/TLS certificate.
-
► Click on the Continue button to continue the process.
- ↳ The Select Type tab opens.
Select type tab
- ► You can choose whether the new SSL/TLS certificate should be valid only for the domain from which you initiated the creation process, or whether it should cover multiple domains you have added.
- ► Click on the Continue button to continue the process.
- ↳ The Wildcards and Subdomains tab opens.

-
► Depending on the type selected in the previous tab, specify for each domain that the SSL/TLS certificate is intended to cover whether the SSL/TLS certificate is valid only for specific subdomains or should be a wildcard certificate.
Note
When selecting a multi-domain certificate, the dialog will guide you through each domain in turn, allowing you to make your selection.
-
► Click on the Continue button to continue the process.
- ↳ The DNS Server tab opens.
DNS server tab
The Myra App checks whether the nameserver for the selected domains is Myra or you. Depending on how you have configured your nameserver, you will receive different instructions to ensure that communication between you and Myra works properly after the SSL/TLS certificate has been created.
Myra is the name server¶
You do not need to do anything else.
Use your own name server¶
For each subdomain entry, an ACME challenge is shown, which you must set up as a CNAME record with your provider.
Proceed as follows to configure the ACME challenges:
- ► Click on the
icon next to the first entry. - ► Create a DNS entry in your name server using the generated CNAME.
- ► Repeat this step for each domain and subdomain specified in the SSL/TLS certificate.
- ➔ Once all DNS records have been set up with your provider, the SSL/TLS certificate can be generated.
Proceed as follows to complete the creation of the SSL/TLS certificate:
- ► Click on the Create certificate button.
- ➔ The dialog closes and the new certificate appears in the Certificate Requests area.

Note
It can take up to an hour to generate a new SSL/TLS certificate through Myra.
- ➔ Once the SSL/TLS certificate has been generated by Myra, it will appear in the list of SSL/TLS certificates.
