Certificate already exists

Description

Uploading an SSL/TLS certificate fails. The dialog shows the message The certificate you wanted to upload already exists. Please select another file or view your existing certificate.

The error occurs when the same certificate is already stored in the certificate management. The same certificate cannot be uploaded a second time.

Resolution

Proceed as follows to resolve the error:

  • ► Open the SSL/TLS Certificate Management view.
  • ► Look for the existing certificate in the list and check its expiry date.
  • ► If the existing certificate is valid, cancel the process: the certificate is already stored.
  • ► If you want to renew the certificate, upload the newly issued certificate, see section Updating SSL/TLS Certificate.
  • ➔ The certificate management contains every certificate exactly once.
