Private key does not match the certificate

Description

Uploading an SSL/TLS certificate fails. The dialog shows the message The SSL certificate and the private key do not match.

The error occurs when the certificate and the private key come from different key pairs. Both files are valid in themselves, but they do not belong together.

Resolution

Proceed as follows to resolve the error:

• ► Look for the private key that was used to create the certificate signing request (CSR) for this certificate.
• ► Enter this private key in the dialog.
• ► Upload the certificate again.
• ➔ The certificate is uploaded.

Note

If the matching private key is no longer available, have your certificate authority issue a new certificate, see section Add SSL/TLS certificate.
